Hi, I'm Julie! I live in Dallas, Texas with my husband, David, and my three children, Walt, Alice, and Kate. They were my inspiration for Our Long-Expected Gift. After learning of the Jesse Tree Advent, I yearned for a book that David and I could read to our children each night in December.

Much of this book was written during the season of quarantine, with three littles constantly at my side. They were my biggest cheerleaders and get credit for making a rhyme or two.

My prayer is that the book would bring families together in the midst of the December chaos to rest on our one true Gift.

Kate Gouws is a watercolor artist and illustrator, born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After studying fine arts at Baylor University, she called Texas home for a while. She moved to Cape Town where she fell in love with her South African hubby. Kate has found that her extensive global travel has

given her a new appreciation for traditions, simplicity and beauty that can be found in her artwork. Her work reflects her Southern roots and illuminates the importance of family.
